Visit Oak Ridge
We’re Happy to Have You
The Oak Ridge family would like to extend a special invitation for you and your family to come worship with us! We hope upon your arrival you will feel right at home. If you are searching for a church home, we want you to know this is the place for you. Below are steps on what to do your first time visiting Oak Ridge.
Steps to Visiting On Sunday
1. Come to Sunday School and Worship Service
Sunday School is at 8:30 am and Worship is at 9:50 am, with some exceptions on special holidays. Each service includes a sermon and music. On your first visit, it’s best to arrive about 15 minutes early, or 30 minutes early if you need time to find your children’s classroom locations. Programs for children and youth coincide with the 9:50 a.m. service.
2. Arrive and Get Parked
Don’t hesitate to ask for help from our security team. They’ll help you navigate the parking lots, which get crowded before the 9:50 a.m. service. Arriving 15 minutes before the service starts will make things easier.
3. Find a Place for Yourself and Your Kids
Ushers are ready to answer your questions before, between, and after each service. Just look for them at the main entrance. They can help you choose an adult Sunday School that’s right for you. If you have children, Ushers would be happy to assist you in placing them into Sunday School.
4. Celebrate Through Worship
Greeters will welcome you into the worship center and give you a program outlining the service. Ushers can help you find a seat. Toward the beginning of the service, everyone is invited to stand and greet one another with handshakes. You will not be singled out as a visitor. After alter prayer, with the exception of 3rd sunday (Youth Sunday), children from ages pre-K to thirteen years old are dismissed to go to Youth Church. Youth Church is where they have their own worship experience geared to their particular age group. Biblical teaching, prayer, giving, and 1st Sunday of the month communion services are key components of worship at Oak Ridge.
5. Let Us Help You
If you would like to talk about a personal concern or something you heard in the service, look for someone with an Usher badge. These men and women have been trained to help and encourage, and they are eager to help. They also can pray with you in the Prayer Room.
