Youth at The Ridge
Growing in Faith, Living with Purpose
The Ridge Youth Ministry
At Oak Ridge, we believe our youth aren’t just the future of the church — they’re an important part of it right now.
The Ridge Youth is where young people are encouraged, equipped, and empowered to grow in faith, build friendships, and become leaders in their homes, schools, and communities. From Bible studies and service projects to praise dance, sports, and creative arts, we offer a wide range of programs and events designed to meet them where they are — and walk with them as they grow.
Whether it’s through fun fellowships, real conversations, or meaningful worship, our goal is to create a safe, welcoming, and Christ-centered space where every student feels seen, supported, and spiritually rooted. Rev. Elisha Byrd brings vibrant leadership to our Children’s Church as its dynamic Youth Pastor.

Feeling stressed before a test?
“Cast all your anxiety on Him…” –1 Peter 5:7
Having trouble with friends?
“A friend loves at all times.” — Proverbs 17:17
Feeling Overwhelmed in Sports or School Pressure?
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” — Philippians 4:13 Your worth isn’t measured by wins, grades, or stats. God sees your heart, your effort, and your growth. When you’re feeling stretched, lean into His strength — not your own.
I lost someone I love. Why does it hurt so. much, and how do I start to heal?
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18 Even in our deepest pain, God isn’t distant — He’s near. Loss hurts because love was real. You don’t have to have all the answers; just let God hold your heart while it heals.
Feeling Left Out or Alone?
“Even if my father and mother abandon me, the Lord will hold me close.” — Psalm 27:10 Sometimes it feels like no one really gets you, or that you’re on the outside looking in. Maybe friends drift away, or you’re just going through stuff that’s hard to explain. But even in the loneliest moments, you are not invisible to God. He sees you. He stays. And He’ll send the right people when the time is right — but He’ll always be your constant.
How do I show I’m blessed and thankful for my parents?
Being blessed isn’t just about saying “thank you”—it’s about living in a way that shows it. When I honor my parents, listen, help without being asked, or pray for them, I’m showing I’m grateful. God gave me my parents on purpose. They aren’t perfect—but they love me, guide me, and sacrifice more than I always see. My respect, kindness, and obedience aren’t just for them… they’re also for God. “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.” — Exodus 20:12
Keep coming back anytime you need some real talk and real hope.
You’re never alone in this—God’s got you!
